You Have Meddled With The Primal Forces of Nature!

"You Have Meddled With The Primal Forces of Nature: And...You...Will...Atone!"

Remember that great speech in "Network" delivered with such force and gospel-level conviction by Ned Beatty to a duly impressed and contrite Howard Beale (Peter Finch)? It was a revelation to many in the 70's to have the world reduced to a large, international conglomerate of corporations. The thing is...it's still relevant today. If not more so.

So, being the industrious smart-ass you have come to know and love, I decided to put some rave music to that mind-blowing speech in the hopes that another generation might have a chance at understanding the world around them and approach it with a modicum of wisdom as to what can be done to affect our current political and social zeitgeist.

Beats and audio-reactive wave form created by me: Sharee Anne Gorman (annienomad~cyberpoet)

This speech was written by famous screen and television writer Paddy Chayefsky - who won more solo Academy Awards than any other writer in the history of the Academy.

As least, that's the way it seems to me...and apparently, Paddy Chayefsky :)

We (Confessions Of An Empire) Club Trance Mix by annienomad~cyberpoet

We - Confessions Of An Empire the trance club mix
for Critical Thinkers.

If we are to evolve as a species we must question our "leaders" because the world is quickly distilling down into this simple business formula: "Looting...and lies to cover looting."

I believe humans developed higher brain functions for a reason. Not just to survive, but to understand our actions in a conscious way...to CHOOSE. Will "WE" choose global cooperation? Or, continue down the path of domination and ultimate decline?

Speak the truth...even if your voice shakes.

Taking my protest poetry from the page to the dance floor.

Propaganda On Crack

The Dangers of A"Reality TV" President:

We are hearing a lot about #fakenews these days but the problem isn't fake news...the problem is #fakereality. Everything we are told is designed to distract us from the institutionalized fleecing of the masses. Scandal + media = controlling, confusing and hijacking public discourse.

It's always been this way...but now we are witnessing an era of "propaganda on crack". We have a "reality tv" president and he knows how to create scandal and get ratings. We are fooled daily into political civil war between two opposing parties to hide and provide cover for all the great crimes behind the ill-gained fortunes of corrupt men (to paraphrase Balzac).

If we continue to fall for these 50 year strategies and short-term distractions devised by geo-political and financial planners we are no better than frogs sitting in pots who don't feel the rising temperature until they're already cooked.

This article by world-renowned economist, Michael Hudson, lends some much needed clarity.

America Still On The Auction Block To Wall Street

The Corporate/Financial Coup of America Continues...

Dear America,

If you're not angry...you're not paying attention. Trump is not disappointing the .01% who placed him in office.

Of course, it didn't start with Trump - Obama served, as did the Bushes, Clinton, Reagan and even mild-mannered Jimmy Carter. It's just that the looting is in full swing now with the "get away with anything President". They don't have to sugar-coat their plans any more...so it's full speed ahead.

Here is an excerpt from "Wall Street On Parade" from Wall St. insider Pam Martens...

"Trump will continue the Orwellian reverse-speak of his campaign promises and do the opposite of what he promised. According to leaks to the financial media, Trump will today sign executive actions ordering swift reviews aimed at rolling back the feeble safeguards on Wall Street that currently exist while replacing them with — nothing. There has been no further word from Trump on bringing back the core principles of Glass-Steagall which would force the formal separation of banks holding taxpayer-backstopped insured deposits from the high-risk, derivatives-peddling, hedge-fund-financing investment banks..."

A Quick Litmus Test for Propaganda

So, you think you live in a democracy?

Okay, America, let's forget for a moment that none of the exit polls matched the final tally for the 2016 Presidential election. Let's forget that the candidate who won this year's popular vote will not be serving in the White House come January. Let's forget that we pretty much all knew we lived in a Banana Republic back in the 2000 presidential election when the son of an ex-CIA head was put in office by the decision of the Florida supreme court where his brother was the sitting governor.

Those points can be argued endlessly...to very unsatisfying results. So how do we proceed? The world is in free-fall: Brexit, the Middle East, the EU, austerity, market crashes, military coups, etc...

Chaos seems to be closing in, not just for us, but for the world at large. What do we do? What can be done? Well, in order to pull out of the global tail-spin we're all in we're going to have to employ some serious Critical Thinking to accurately determine our circumstances.

How did we get into this mess? I believe it starts with propaganda. A lie. An institutionalized sanctioned theft, perpetrated on the many, for the benefit of a few. So, how do we determine our level of propaganda? Let's pick a simple example to determine whether or not we can place any stock in the integrity of a country we have been taught to love and honor. We want to believe we live in a democracy. We want to believe our leaders have the welfare of the people (at home and abroad) at heart...but we must never blindly assume that to be the case.

Apple Inc is America's most successful company. Yet, the profits and success of Apple are based on slave pool labor, off-shored jobs, resources taken from vulnerable countries at under market value and the over-charging of its customers by way of exorbitant annual fleecing in order to keep up with ever-changing upgrades. Also, the personal computer was developed by taxpayer funding at MIT then privatized when it was handed over to Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak - a business model of public funding leading to private profit. Which is not "free-enterprise". It's taxpayer subsidy, in other words, corporate welfare. This is an endless toll-booth model for consumer/taxpayers who have to pay out two or three different times...all while the rich get richer.

Apple is the opposite of what most citizens consider to be "American values". Yet, it is the shining example of the success and viability of Capitalism. We are propagandized daily into accepting what is demonstrably not true, then peer-pressured into to turning a blind eye to our own hypocrisy.

The .01% bilk the working class then call it capitalism and the illusion of a democracy makes it seem as if we are choosing our fates when in reality we are complicit in our own enslavement, and sadly the enslavement of others.

There are more and probably better examples, obviously, but this was a small example of a vast disconnect. It seems as long as Steve Jobs gives an inspiring commencement speech he can go down in history as a capitalist hero...regardless of Apple's corporate crimes.

Much like the genocide that our Founding Fathers wrought while simultaneously composing the U.S. Constitution: proof that as long as you put together some pretty words (mostly borrowed from indigenous people and French philosophers) you can pretty much get away with anything.

Critical Thinking is a tool that can, if correctly applied, get us beyond the flowery (but meaningless) words that fool otherwise caring people into remaining complacent in the face of injustice. And that being the case, I suggest we start employing this tool, that is, if we hope to gain a modicum of social balance, integrity or economic justice in our currently not-so-bright future.

At least, that's the way it seems to me,

Stopping Trump With Just One Meme...Not!

Time to learn a new phrase, kids! It's called...

The Extractor Class

The Extractor Class - #XtractorClass
You don't need to uncover layer after layer of deep, conspiracy-laden, historical documents to find out who is controlling the world...you just need to follow the money.

The Extractor Class is not some dark secret society or hidden group running the world from an underground facility or a secure room.
It's a very OBVIOUS, public group
stealing all your sh*t.

The Extractor Class steals resources from vulnerable countries through militarism. They run an on-going con called Wall Street. They take the peoples' commons and sell it back to us. Or, they privatize tech that was developed by public taxes and...again, sell it back to us.

The #XtractorClass is a "toll-booth" society.

If you want to stop them it will require a
#globalsolidarity movement.

Peace Meme - Sanity Is A Prerequisite For Peace

The continuing catastrophic melt down in Fukushima, Japan clearly illustrates that the pursuit of Nuclear Energy is a global suicidal tendency...yet contracts around the world are being written up as we speak to build new nuclear plants.

Are they insane? Maybe. Are they corrupt? Most certainly.

Who knows? Perhaps, they are just setting up the next Ponzi Scheme investor bubble for Wall Street and the .01% without any intention of following through on these trillion dollar contracts.

But, one thing's for sure, sanity is not America's biggest export.

America's biggest export...is war.

Almost every movie made now is just one big
international arms dealer commercial.

Activists, concerned about the undue influence of
"product placement" in television and movies,
complain about the little can of Coke slipped into the
storyline of a fictional dorm room or grade school playground, while missing the massive weapons demonstration of the latest high-tech weaponry on display center screen from the latest action hero extravaganza for international buyers.

Anyone who thinks dystopian reality is some

dark, post-apocalyptic time far off in the distant future
really should think again.

We're already there...people just don't realize it because
it's been wrapped in American Idol and Kardashian ass.

"Conspiracy!" - Paranoid, draconian oppression has never been funnier.

The Situation Room
(Excerpt from “Conspiracy!”
by S.A. Gorman and S.J. Curwick)

The State Department’s Chief of Protocol is observing what sounds to be a very heated argument between two four-star generals. An Old Bulldog of a General with a team of like-minded generals beside him is bent over the table yelling at a Younger General with his own team of like-minded generals on his side.
Your plan’s not working,” the Old Bulldog General barks. “If you want regime change, we need to go in!”
“That’s not how we do it anymore, Jack,” the Younger General says. “Regime change is no longer accomplished by boots on the ground-”
Because that’s war...the Chief of Protocol reminds everyone.
The Younger General accepts the State Department’s interruption as par for the course and continues.
“If you want regime change,” the Younger General explains, “you start with your NGOs to foment discontent with the current regime, while simultaneously encouraging partnership with Western interests...”
Democracy promotion,” the Protocol Chief offers, helpful.
“...then you orchestrate the overthrow of the existing government...”
Democratic Uprising,” the PC corrects.
“...which leads to elections in the square...”
which is not a coup,” the PC makes clear.
“...then we recognize the newly elected regime...”
the legitimate government,” the PC adds.
“...and then they invite us in, the Younger General says, giving the Old Bulldog General a condescending smile. “We give them IMF loans and they open up the country to Western investors. We can frack, bring in GMO crops, build nuclear power plants...whatever you want...and no one can say “boo” because it’s just two democratic countries enjoying the benefits of the Free Market.”
The Old Bulldog General folds his arms and gives the Younger General a well-seasoned smile.
“And how’s that working out for you?”
He looks down at the electronic map between them.
Because from here, it looks like the farmers in the North don’t much care for your fracking and frankenfood...and have picked up their pitch-forks and shovels...”
“which makes them terrorists,” the PC points out.
“...and are beating the shit out of your little band of Nazi mercenaries and drafted high school students-”
the People’s Army,” the PC corrects.
“...driving them all the way back to the town square, where they were ‘elected’...”
the recognized government,” the PC reminds.
“...and where ‘the People’s Army’ is now holed-up, cowering like little girls, waiting for someone to swoop in and rescue them,” the Old Bulldog General says, handing the Younger General’s condescending smile right back to him. “While you sit on the sidelines and watch your five year, five billion dollar NGO project go down the drain!”
The Old Bull Dog General gets right in the Younger General’s face.
“So, if you want to frack this fucker, you better do something…and quick!”
The Younger General has visibly deflated during the course of the Old General’s verbal onslaught.
He answers in a measured voice.
“You think we don’t want to do something? You think we wouldn't just loooove to go in there with a full brigade of American troops-”
Nato forces,” the PC reminds.
“...Nato forces,” the Younger General restates, “backed by airstrikes...”
which is not boots on the ground,” the PC adds, just to be clear.
“...and drive those farmers-”
the terrorists,” the PC adds, helpful.
“...back into their barns?!” the Younger General says, finally completing his thought.
The Younger General gets right back in the Old Bulldog General’s face.
“Hell! If it were up to me, Jack, I’d line the friggin’ eastern border with American troops-”
Nato Forces,” the PC corrects.
“Nato Forces...” the Younger General restates, through gritted teeth.
Peacekeeping mission - still not boots on the ground,” the PC reminds everybody.
The Younger General continues with his point.
“…then plop down a big ‘open for business’ sign and invite corporate America to the housewarming party!”
Western investment to bolster their economy,” the PC adds, cheerfully.
The Younger General turns to the Old Bulldog General.
“…but then, Mother Russia looks up and sees a bunch of Nato troops parked on her border, and rightly figures the next thing she’ll see is a U.S. military base-”
American Embassy,” the PC corrects.
The Old Bulldog General and the Younger General both turn on the PC.
“Oh, shut up!”
The State Department Protocol Chief humbly puts up his hands.
Just here to observe...
The Younger General gives the Old Bulldog General a sober look.
“Russia’s gonna have something to say about troops on her border, Jack...and she’s gonna say it with short range nuclear missiles pointed right at the EU. Then we’re just one “fuck you” away from World War III and full on Nuclear War.”
Still not boots on the ground!” the PC interjects, just sayin’.

We The People - excerpt from "Politics & Poetry" by annienomad~cyberpoet

We the People

we are teeming
we masses
we inconvenient
yet necessary
evil

blindered daily by
well-intentioned talking heads
their rarely seen hands tied by
parent company, share-holder
interests

we the people…
befuddled fodder for untold riches
occasionally awakened
by the rising grumblings of
our lowly
restless brethren

seasonally riled into
democratically-synthesized
ballot-punching
made ritually pointless by
emboldened corporate bag men
and government "think tanks”
who spend tax-payer money
devising new and covert ways
to keep us from thinking.

we the people…
who marvel at our Ponzi Scheme culture
admiring the magic trick of
turning public funding into
private profit

...ooohh...aaahhh...

The People...
quasi-breathing, citizen/consumers
providing mindless grist
for modern financial mills
up to our muffled ears in debt
paupers at the polls
and pump

Creatures - excerpt from Legends, Myths and Journeys by annienomad~cyberpoet

Creatures

We are creatures of Light and Dark
we drink the sun
we dream the moon
heaven conceived our being
thought became flesh
nature bore us from
her perfect balance
…and trembled...

We are creatures of Love and Rage
crashing our illusions
on the jagged edge of
our ego fortress
searching for a small
break in the storm
an idyllic, peaceful cove
some welcoming shore

We are creatures of Hope and Despair
cynical romantics
hobbled by longing
every breath a prayer
that faith can render
true and profound the
unfulfilled promise

We are creatures of Habit and Chaos
we punch the clock
we toy with death
heaven conceived our being
thought became flesh
nature bore us from
her perfect balance

she still trembles...

"I See" excerpt from Primal Scream by annienomad~cyberpoet

I See

I See…her cringe at his arrogant,
pac-10, six-pack-fueled bid for status
I see…him grow resigned and flaccid
for the bones that protrude beneath
her starving skin

I See…the gay and well-heeled rebels
of the family paradigm
sucked back in through fear of loneliness
and threat of disease

I See…the commuter and his fight for air
and the road less traveled
I See…the child at play in a hostile
not-yet-completely-disguised
miniature monkey asphalt jungle

I See…the old couple bent from the lies
and assurances that kept them placid
members of a society that has,
so readily, forgotten them

I See…the pop culture suicide of
an instant-icon generation who
"dare to say no"
but fill their prescriptions
with a resounding
"yes!"

I See…the desperation
of an exploded population
and the growing realization
that maybe
God
isn't with us
